Alessandro V. Gancia is a Senior Advisor at DCPLA. He is responsible for managing key accounts in Italy and the Italian-speaking region of Switzerland. Alessandro has held this position at the company since 2015.
Alessandro has been working in the financial services industry since 1990. During this time, he worked as a consultant and equity sales professional with a number of prestigious international companies including Munich-based consultancy Roland Berger & Partners, leading US investment bank Alex Brown & Sons Inc. and Donaldson Lufkin & Jenrette (DLJ), a major US investment bank, at its locations in New York and Geneva. Following the merger of DLJ and Credit Suisse First Boston (CSFB), Alessandro switched to CSFB where he was responsible for covering institutional accounts in Switzerland. He also served as a Director on the boards of Christian Dior S.A. (LVMH) and AON France.
In addition to his role at DCPLA, Alessandro is President of the Board of Directors of Alternative Advisory Partners S.A (AAP), a company that he founded in 2003. AAP specialises in raising capital for hedge funds and is registered with the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FINMA).
Alessandro has a degree in business administration (finance, marketing and economics) from Babson College, Massachusetts, in the US. He also studied finance and Japanese corporate management at Sanno University in Tokyo, Japan. He speaks English, Italian, German, French and Spanish.
